Strikers Add Assistant Coach Chrysanthos Christou

Tampa, FL  -  The Tampa Bay Strikers have announced the addition of Chrysanthos Christou as assistant coach.  Christou will be assisting Strikers Head Coach Martin Gramatica with both the men's and women's teams.

It is with great pleasure that I get to announce my assistant coach Chrysanthos Christou   for the Tampa Bay Strikers. Chrys brings a wealth of knowledge and passion for the game. Vamos con todo!, said Strikers Head Coach Martin Gramatica.

Chrysanthos Christou was born in Larnaca, Cyprus and began his soccer career at 12 years of age. He has played professional soccer for 10 years for teams internationally accredited by UEFA, the Union of European Football, for first division teams such as: AEK Larnaca and Ermis Aradippou.

Soccer has been his passion since his childhood days and continues to be a significant part of his professional and personal life. Coach Chrysanthos has trained with Ray Clemence MBE, one of English & European soccer’s most decorated goalkeepers, as well as Nikos Sarganis, a legendary Greek retired soccer goalkeeper.

Coach Chrysanthos works as Head Coach for the West Florida Flames for the past 5 years and is now coaching U11, U16 and U19 teams, as well as the West Florida Flames goalkeepers. He has completed his U.S. Soccer National C Coaching License and is now in the process of completing his National B Coaching License.

The Strikers begin play in December, calling the Yuengling Center on the campus of USF, home for 10 home games with both Men’s and Women’s games being played in a double header format. Former Tampa Bay Buccaneer kicker and soccer expert Martin Gramatica, is the Head Coach of the team. Season tickets are on sale now, go to https://www.tbstrikers.com  for more information. ABOUT NATIONAL INDOOR SOCCER LEAGUE (NISL): The National Indoor Soccer League was founded in January 2021 by a group of seasoned sports team/league owners with over 50 years of ownership experience. The league features both a Men's & Women's Division, competing in double header game days over a 20-game regular season that takes place between the months of December and April. Current teams include Central FL Crusaders (Orlando), Columbus Rapids (Georgia), Fayetteville Fury, Memphis Americans, Rome Gladiators (Georgia), and Tampa Bay Strikers. The NISL is committed to promoting and supporting our member teams, while providing an avenue for players, coaches, and front office staff to develop their skills and gain exposure for opportunities at higher levels, all while providing high-quality, affordable entertainment in the communities we serve.
